The late Satchel Paige was not only one of the greatest Negro League pitchers who ever lived, but one of Major League Baseball’s best hurlers ever. The lanky right-hander earned 100 victories while pitching in the Negro Leagues before becoming the oldest rookie pitcher in MLB history when at age 48 he joined the Cleveland Indians in 1948. As a full-fledged major leaguer, he posted 28 victories over the course of five seasons while taking the hill for both the Indians (1948-49) and then the St. Louis Browns (1951-53). Paige autographed this single-signed OAL (Cronin) baseball on a side panel with the inscription “Best Wishes From” and dated it “July 29-71.” The baseball appears lightly toned but unused.  Paige’s inscription is in clear in blue ink rating 7/10 in our book. This is among the nicer non-personalized single signed baseballs we've seen from this legend of the game. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG01587).
