The American Basketball Association (ABA) was a professional basketball league that operated from the 1967-68 season until it ceased to exist with the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. The ABA presented a variety of annual awards and honors to recognize its players and executives. Named one of the 50 Greatest Players in history by the NBA in 1996, Rick Barry ranks among the most prolific scorers and all-around players in basketball history and is the only one to lead the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), ABA, and NBA in points per game in a season. He ranks as the all-time ABA scoring leader in regular season (30.5 points per game) and postseason (33.5) play, while his 36.3 points per game are the most in the NBA Finals history.

Offered from Rick Barry's personal collection that was sold years ago; his 1972 ABA All-Star plaque award for his selection to the this historic game (Barry led the Eastern & Western Conference with 12 rebounds).

The front showcases that this was for the "5th Annual All-Star Game" with his name "RICK BARRY" engraved on the bottom portion of the Nets team logo shield. It measures in at 7-1/2'' x 9-3/4''.New York Nets.

Very rare important piece of ABA history. This is the only award that has ever come to auction from this historic game.
