When our consignor was a young boy growing up in Cleveland he personally visited with Tris Speaker and enjoyed talking baseball with the then-living legend. He eventually asked the former ballplayer to sign his black and white Hall of Fame plaque by including his famous "Spoke" nickname. Mr. Speaker initially refused saying he "hated" the nickname but later relented and in dark ink included "Spoke" to his signature. We are aware of not other version of his signature using this moniker in any form. This is an extremely scarce if not unique Speaker signed Hall of Fame Plaque.
