Kenny Washington was the first African American to sign an NFL contract. He played varisty baseball and football at UCLA, where he starred alongside Jackie Robinson in the Bruins vaunted triumvirate all-Black backfield with Woody Strode. After college, Washington played for the Hollywood Bears of the Pacific Coast Professional Football League from 1940-1945 before getting the call from the Rams when they moved to Los Angeles in 1946. Offered here is a scarce Kenny Washington autograph on a government postcard. The GPC was signed and inscribed “Best Regards” by Washington in bold black ink. It is encapsulated and graded NM-MT 8 by PSA/DNA.
