When this pin was first offered publicly at auction in 2003 it was described as "The Rolls Royce of celluloid pins" and sold for over $6500. This circa 1906 Ty Cobb pin is the only one of its kind known to exist and is still regarded as the summit of pin collecting. The front features a full body batting pose of it's subject with virtually no damage with some slight toning. The back is evenly tarnished. EX-MT condition overall. An ideal combination of ultimate rarity and condition. Measures 1 1/4 inch in diameter.
