This stunning Sterling Silver season pass granted admission to the Cincinnati Reds tenth season in the National League. Led by future Hall of Famer Buck Ewing, the 1899 Reds went 83-67 for the year, but still only managed to finish in sixth place in the highly competitive league. The ornate 2 ½” x 3 ¾” metal pass has “Cincinnati Base Ball Park” in beautiful Victorian lettering along with flowing banners, baseball equipment and floral borders. A work of art in itself, this stunning pass was issued to “Mrs. E.O. McCormick & Party,” the wife of Eugene McCormick, a railroad executive. Mrs. McCormick’s name is etched into the bottom of the pass, below the facsimile signature of Reds owner John T. Brush. The pass has survived in superb condition, with just light wear and surface scuffs from age and storage. A visually dazzling piece of art and baseball history that is worthy of its own place in a museum.
