Rare and ornate silver pass presented to Roy Hartzell in honor of his long service to Major League Baseball. Pass measures 1-7/8" x 2-7/8" and features raised lettering and decor across the front with facsimile signatures of AL and NL Presidents Harridge and Frick at the bottom. Hartzell was 24 years old when he played his first game in the big leagues on April 17, 1906, with the St. Louis Browns. He played many positions including second base, third base, shortstop, and outfield in each of his 11 seasons of baseball. At the plate he batted left-handed, but threw right-handed. In 1,290 games Hartzell compiled a life-time batting average of .252. His last game was on July 25, 1916. Pass has an EX-EX/MT appearance on front with numerous surface scratches affecting the back.
