This Size 10 Balfour ring of 14K Yellow Gold is yet another impressive artifact, this time marking Rollie Fingers' selection as the American League's Relief Pitcher of the Year for 1981, almost certainly his greatest season in an 18-year career that ultimately led to a plaque in Cooperstown. Fingers won the American League Most Valuable Player Award and the Cy Young, a rare doubleheader for any pitcher, to say nothing of a reliever. He logged 28 Saves in his return to the American League, achieved with an ERA of 1.04, just barely missing out on the surreal oddity of permitting less than one run per nine innings. The technical elements of this spectacular ring include: one .80 ct round center diamond VS 1, F-G color on the face, with four .15ct diamonds VS 1-2, G-H color encircling it. The ring has 17.1 grams of 14K yellow gold. One shank has the American League logo and "AL Relief Pitcher"; the other the Brewer's logo, "81" and "Rollie Fingers." Engravings on the inside of the band indicate Balfour and 14K gold. The ring appears to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition, and comes with the original black-felt display box in the same shape. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Rollie Fingers.
