Presented here is a lovely Charles Fazzino hand-painted
baseball signed by the still-widely recognized single-season home run king,
Roger Maris. His autograph on the sweet spot comes in 7/10 blue ballpoint
surrounded by a red glittered cloud. The left panel (left of sweet spot, that is) features a
“61 in 61” call-out from the unforgettable home run race between Maris and
Mickey Mantle in the summer of 1961. The right panel pictures Maris in his No.
9 pinstriped Yankees uniform hitting his famous 61st homer on Oct.
1, 1961, against the hated Red Sox, with “2x AL MVP” in red. The top panel has
a 3-dimensional Yankees logo at the base of Maris’ famed jersey with “9”
glistening in shiny blue. The bottom panel depicts Maris on one knee with “1960
Gold Glove” and “1961 AL HR Leader” in gold and red, respectively. The famous 3-D pop artist
has signed the opposite side of the ball (where the brand label would be) in
black pen. This special 1-of-1 piece of baseball artwork comes in NM-MT overall
condition with very little handling.
Includes LOA’s from JSA and PSA/DNA.
