Issued for use in the 1968 All-Star game, this 36 inch, 38.4 ounce Adirondack model 129X Roberto Clemente professional model bat is uncracked and shows evidence of heavy use with some checking (grain separation) from repeated ball contact on the back barrel. Some of the original finish appears to be flaking on the barrel. The barrel is covered with ball marks and ball stitch marks and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The model number (129X) is stamped into the knob. Though Clemente did not play in the 1968 All-Star Game, the bat shows clear evidence of subsequent usage to a degree that makes this an extremely scarce and desirable gamer from the Pittsburgh Pirates legend. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Grade GU7).
