Rich Niemann was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 1968 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. That season, he was traded from the Pistons to the Milwaukee Bucks along with cash for Dave Gambee. Later that year, he was claimed by the Boston Celtics after he was waived by the Bucks. After his time with the Celtics, he played the rest of his career in the American Basketball Association. His ABA career was spent with three teams over two seasons, the Carolina Cougars, Miami Floridians and Dallas Chaparrals.

Rich Niemann’s 1971-72 game used Dallas Chaparrals ABA Warmups feature all of the proper tagging and show excellent game use. The Chaparrals bird logo on the back of the jacket is gorgeously rendered in hand stitching. Rawlings size 44 tag with washing directions tag stitched in next to inside the front of the zip-front jacket. Across the front is "DALLAS” done in red and blue tackle twill. Across the back of the jacket is the name “NIEMANN” in red and blue tackle twill. In the back waistband of the red pants is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s size "38" tag. On the upper left leg is the player number “52” in white on blue tackle twill. The jacket and pants retain superb display quality and remain completely original and unaltered. Includes a signed LOA from Rich Niemann.
