When it came to signing baseballs, much like hitting home runs, Babe Ruth was the unrivaled master of the craft.  Though he most often commanded the sweet spot, as though he owned that space, Ruth occasionally gravitated to a side panel when he wished to add a particularly grand signature or a personal salutation. In this case we see evidence of the former as Ruth has graced this ball on the east panel with a remarkably large and impressive autograph without a personalized notation.  The black fountain pen signature rates 7+ out of 10. The OAL (Harridge) ball has very faint, almost indiscernible stampings, but is only mildly toned with minimal soiling. Close inspection of the north and south panels reveals a long notation in faded blue pen that appears to be in a different hand, inscribed to a bat boy named Spike. It is so faint that the ball essentially presents as a beautiful Ruth single.

Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA as well as LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
