For nearly 70 years, the Boston Garden served as the home of the Bruins and Celtics. Home to 21 Championships between the two storied franchises, it became one of the most revered landmarks in New England. After the 1995 seasons the Historic Boston Garden was finally deemed obsolete. Upon its deconstruction, the offered double seat was retrieved as a keepsake for Red Auerbach. This particular seat style, with its original yellow paint, curved backs, and deco-style figural end, tells us that it comes from a floor section. Its occupants through the years witnessed some of the great moments in sports, such as Orr’s “Flying Goal” in the 1970 Stanley Cup Finals and Game 7 of the 1965 NBA Eastern Conference Finals when “Havlicek stole the ball!”. Red Auerbach kept this Garden relic on display in his Boston office, as can be seen in several photographs. At some point he added his large signature to the top back slat of the right seat. The seats remain in outstanding original condition. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.)
