You could make a case that the Celtics as we know them might never have been were it not for the basketball genius that was Red Auerbach. Red was the heart and soul of three different Celtics dynasties that spanned generations. During halftime of a game played at Boston's Fleet Center on January 1st, 1995 the Boston Celtics held a ceremony to pay tribute to their greatest icon. This large and beautiful 27”x35” oil painting was unveiled and presented to Auerbach at mid court. The painting depicts Auerbach in a distinguished pose with trademark cigar in hand, rendered in brilliant color. It has been signed by the artist (“Balmer”) and is held in a gold leaf frame. A printed image of Auerbach receiving the painting is included. A fine piece of original art from Auerbach’s wall to yours. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
