The Dr. James Naismith Peach Basket Award, named in honor of the inventor of Basketball, is given annually in recognition of an individual’s outstanding contributions to the sport. Red Auerbach was selected to receive this honor in 1977. This 14”x19” award features a screened image of Dr. Naismith, a raised peach basket, and a written history of the award. A list of prior recipients includes fellow basketball immortals John Wooden, Dr. Forrest Allen and Adolph Rupp. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
