Bob Cousy's ceremonial departure from the game - Bob Cousy Day, March 17, 1963 - was as significant as the revolutionary play he brought to it. "That day was the most meaningful of my career," Cousy would later say. "It was something you only want to experience once." Cousy's final game on that St. Patrick's Day afternoon included a three-minute standing ovation by a rare sold-out Garden, and a monstrous four-and-a-half-minute tumult when Cousy came out of the game with 2 minutes 10 seconds left. At one point during Cousy's unforgettably address to the fans, he paused to control emotions. Amid the capacity crowd of 13,909, somebody famously shouted "We love ya, Cooz," from the second balcony. This original program from day has been signed on the cover by fifteen of Cousy Celtics teammates and colleagues including: Red Auerbach, Tom Heinsohn, Jim Loscutoff, Frank Ramsey, K.C. Jones, Gene Guarilia, Buddy LeRoux (trainer), Tom Sanders, Dan Swartz, Bill Russell, Clyde Lovellette, John Havlicek, Sam Jones and Bob Cousy himself. The blue ink signatures average 8 out of 10, while the program remains in EX-MT condition overall. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
