This large (16” by 12”) piece of original art was created by renowned Boston Globe artist Phil Bissell, creator of the New England Patriots logo (Pat the Patriot). The piece was created in 1956 in anticipation of the arrival of Bill Russell and Frank Ramsey. It shows Auerbach and Walter Brown around a fire fueled by logs bearing the names of the 1956 Celtics players, with the logs "Russell" and "Ramsey" ready to be added. The piece shows some toning from age, otherwise appearing in EX-MT condition in its original vintage frame. The piece is artist signed. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
