This large (14” by 14”) piece of original art was created by renowned Boston Globe artist Phil Bissell, creator of the New England Patriots logo (Pat the Patriot). The piece was created in anticipation of the 1955-56 playoffs and shows Auerbach standing in front of Celtics players Red Morrison, Ernie Barrett, Dick Hemric, Jim Loscutoff and Togo Palazzi on the bench. Humorous details include glue under the rear end of Palazzi. The piece shows areas of very minor age toning, appearing in EX-MT to NM condition in its original vintage frame (no glass). The piece is artist signed in the lower right corner. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
