This 7"x9" black and white photo features a close-up portrait image of Yankees first baseman Wally Pipp in uniform. Pipps's dark black ink inscription in the lower right area reads, "To Phil Brooks a real baseball fan, Wally Pipp". The inscription and signature rate 9 out of 10. The photo has been cut from a scrapbook page which it remains adhered to on the reverse. Wally Pipp enjoyed a fine 15-year major league career which included two home run titles, but may be best remembered as the man who lost his starting role to Lou Gehrig at the beginning of Gehrig's streak of 2,130 consecutive games.
