White OAL(Brown) baseball signed on the sweet spot by Pete Gray, St. Louis Browns outfielder who lost his right arm in a childhood accident, in perfect 9-10/10 blue ball point pen. In 1945 Gray appeared in 77 games with the Browns, batting .218 with 13 RBI's. Playing center field he had a .958 fielding percentage and was able to transfer the ball from glove to hand with remarkable speed. He was sent back to the minors when pitchers realized he could not hit the breaking ball as he had no second hand to check his swing.
