Paul H. Cleary was an All-America end for the USC football team in 1947. This lot includes a National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame certificate that was awarded to Cleary upon his election on January 31 1989. The award states: “Paul H. Cleary, USC, 1946-47, has been granted the highest honors of the National Football Hall of Fame, in recognition of his outstanding playing ability as demonstrated in intercollegiate competition, his sportsmanship, integrity, character and contribution to the sport of football, this certificate bears witness that his name shall be forever honored in the National Football Hall of Fame.” The framed certificate measures 19” wide by 25” high and is signed by Fred Russell, former Chairman of the Honors Court of the National Football Hall of Fame.
