The New York Yankees franchise has produced countless stars through its storied history. From Ruth and Gehrig to Clemens and Jeter. But there was a period of time in the ‘50s and early ‘60s when the Yankees owned the American League standings and secured consecutive trips the Fall Classic seemingly every year. Six different signatures of the players most responsible of the Yankees success during that time are all captured on this pair of multi-signed American League (MacPhail) baseballs. Mickey Mantle (on the sweet spot of both balls) is joined by Yogi Berra and Roger Maris in black ink, while Don Larsen, Bill “Moose” Skowron and Joe DiMaggio are all featured in three different shades of blue ink. DiMaggio’s signature, while clearly visible, is severely faded on both balls. Five of the superstars on this baseball were home run hitters, who launched a total of 1,741 round-trippers. Larsen, the only pitcher, remains the only major leaguer to ever pitch a perfect game in World Series history! This lot represents a great piece of Yankees history.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family. Also includes 2 Certificates of Authenticity signed by Bill "Moose" Skowron for each ball. Mantle and "Moose" appeared at dozens of autograph shows together in the 1980's.
Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
