From 1935 to 1972, J. Edgar Hoover was the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He pioneered such methods as finger printing and the use of forensic laboratories. This lot offers a pair of Hoover signed books and a signed letter to Lou Brissie from Hoover. Both books are in EX-MT/NM condition with all pages, spines and dust jackets intact and off white/white in color. Included is a personal letter from Hoover to Brissie, stating that he has forwarded him a 1st edition copy of “Masters of Deceit” and has signed the letter in bold vintage blue fountain pen, his signature at the bottom in a 9/10 for strength and eye appeal.

The first book “Masters of Deceit” has been signed and inscribed on the first page with “To Lou Brissie - With warm regards - J. Edgar Hoover - 2/13/58”.

The second book “The FBI Story” has been signed and inscribed on the first page with “To Lou Brissie - Best Wishes - J. Edgar Hoover - 2/6/57.
