Outstanding pair of turn-of-the-century oversized cabinet photos featuring the Harvard football team. Both items feature 9-34” by "13-3/4" photographs on 16” by 20” mounts. Studio markings from Pach Bros. of Cambridge, Mass. appear on both mounts and both cabinet photos are affixed to matching vintage mattes. Of added significance, is that one of the images (dated 1898) shows the results from that season's Harvard vs. Yale game printed on the football held by the player seated at center. It reads "Harvard 17 - Yale 0." Both photos are in outstanding condition for their age, surviving in EX-EX/MT condition. The grey matting that has served to protect them shows some moisture staining and edge wear.
