The 1958 New York Yankees finished the regular season with a record of 92-62, winning their 24th American League pennant as they finished 10 games ahead of the runner-up Chicago White Sox. In the World Series, they defeated the Milwaukee Braves in seven games. The Yankees were managed by none other than Casey Stengel. This lot includes two team-signed baseballs from that year’s championship squad. The first official “Home Run League” Spalding baseball includes 25 signatures on it including Yankee catcher Yogi Berra’s in blue ink across the sweet spot. A clubhouse signature of Mickey Mantle shares the sweet spot. Other notable signatures, mostly in blue ink, include Hall of Famers Enos Slaughter and Ed “Whitey” Ford along with Bill “Moose” Skowron, Bobby Richardson, Don Larsen, Elston Howard, Hank Bauer and Marv Throneberry. The second official “Home Run League” Spalding baseball includes 26 signatures on it including Yankee catcher Yogi Berra’s in blue ink across the sweet spot accompanied by a clubhouse signature of Mickey Mantle. Other noteworthy signatures, also in blue ink, include Hall of Famers Enos Slaughter and Ed “Whitey” Ford along with Tony Kubek, Bill “Moose” Skowron, Don Larsen, Elston Howard, Art Ditmar, Bobby Richardson and Hank Bauer. The majority of signatures on both balls are solid and rate 7-8/10.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
