This lot features four World Series tickets from the Dodgers’ first two World Championships. The first pair are 1955 Game 1 full tickets from the franchise’s only title in Brooklyn. The opener resulted in a tough Dodgers loss as Whitey Ford bested Don Newcombe, 6-5. Of course Brooklyn rebounded to win the series in seven hard-fought games.

The third ticket is from Game 1 of the 1959 Series against the White Sox. This game resulted in a complete blowout by Chicago, with Ted Kluszewski hitting two home runs in the 11-0 win. This lopsided loss was also memorable for being the first post-season appearance by Sandy Koufax. The future Hall of Famer pitched the 6th and 7th innings for LA, holding the Sox bats without a run or hit. Game 2 of the ’59 Fall Classic featured the hero of the ’55 Series, Johnny Podres, holding off the Sox for a 4-3 win.

The 1955 Game 1 Lower Stand full tickets are each graded PSA Good 2 and show heavy toning with edge wear and pitting. These are the only two GD 2 examples in the PSA pop report, with only two rated higher. The 1959 Game 1 Lower Grandstand full ticket and Game 2 stub are both graded PSA Good 2 and show light toning along with scuffing and slight discoloration along the outer areas.
PAIR OF 1955 WORLD SERIES (DODGERS VS. YANKEES) GAME 1 FULL TICKETS PLUS 1959 WS GAME 1 FULL TICKET (SANDY KOUFAX 1ST WS GAME) AND 1959 WS GAME 2 TICKET STUB - ALL PSA GD 2
