Two signed Spalding Official National League balls used during games at Milwaukee’s County Stadium in the first two seasons after the Braves relocated from Boston. The first ball was used during the September 13, 1953, double header against the Braves. The Braves took the first game 2-1, Monte Irvin hitting a home run and Warren Spahn winning his 20th game of the year, and the Giants won the nightcap 7-4 with Johnny Antonelli picking up the win. Giants skipper Leo Durocher has signed the sweet spot in black pen and an unknown hand has recorded the game’s outcome on a side panel. The ball shows some game use with a light coat of shellack. The coating has chipped in a few places but the Durocher signature and inscription remain legible. The second ball was used during the July 23, 1954, game against Milwaukee. The Braves won, 3-2 with Bob Buhl holding the future World Champs to just 8 hits. Youngster Hoyt Wilhelm took the loss for New York. Giants shortstop Al Dark went 2 for 4 that afternoon and has been signed by him with the inscription “Good Luck, Larry Al Dark,” in dark green ball point. “JULY 23, 1954, Milwaukee-3 New York-2” has been written on a side panel. The ball shows game use with some scuffing and has a light coat of shellack.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
