Pair of composite postcards featuring the 1919 Chicago White Sox and 1919 Cincinnati Reds sent the day of Game 4 of the World Series by a fan who attended the game. The postcards feature on the front composite portrait images of 19 players from each team. All 8 of the "Black Sox" banned for throwing the World Series appear on the Chicago postcard. Both are postmarked Oct. 4, 1919 11 PM from Chicago, Illinois. On one before the game the fan writes "I am in Chicago Baseball field right now, 9:30 A.M., there is a good crowd right now.....expect to see Chicago win today again. This is my first World Series." After the game he writes "seen the game today. it was a dandy, Cincy will win the series sure." Both postcards present about very good condition with corner wear and some light creases. Incredible pair of items from an eye witness to the most famous World Series in baseball history.
