In October of 1962, Parlophone Records produced a small quantity of promotional photo cards with pictures taken while the Beatles were in the studio. Shortly thereafter, Parlophone issued a second, and final card that was introduced in March of 1963, with a shot taken by photographer Angus McBean at the E.M.I. house in Manchester, England, and produced in two sizes, 5¾" x 3½" and the much rarer larger format measuring close to 7 1/2”x 5.”

This tremendous example was signed circa mid-1963 by the Beatles on the front photo side of the oversized Parlophone promotional photocard. When the Beatles did sign these cards, the majority were autographed on the blank reverse side, giving them more space for them to sign and also at times having people who were on their staff to sign examples for them. Not on this one, the Beatles have all autographed the front photo side, John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The signatures present beautifully all in the same blue ballpoint pen. The reverse blank side is very clean. With the exception of small tape stains in the two upper corner tips the card is in overall outstanding condition.

No matter the simplest of any piece, almost any item today signed by the Fab Four typically commands strong demand with many collectors. The fact that this highly sought after card is autographed on the front, is of large format, and high-grade condition truly raises the bar and value. Few of these have survived intact over time which continues to make them more rare and desirable deeming this example among one the finest for any Beatles memorabilia. Beckett encapsulated.
