Elgin Baylor kicked off his Hall of Fame career during the October 22, 1958, game against the visiting Cincinnati Royals. The Minneapolis Lakers rookie played 32 minutes and scored 25 points in the 99-79 win. This original action photo was taken the night of Baylor’s pro debut. He would go on to lead the Lakers to the NBA Finals that year and take home Rookie of the Year honors for his efforts. Making this piece even more desirable is Elgin Baylor’s bold signature in 8/10 blue marker below his image. The 8x10 photograph shows light toning with slightly rounded edges and corners. The back has the United Press International stamp along with handwritten notations. This is the only Elgin Baylor signed NBA debut game photo known to exist. The autograph and Type 1 photo have both been authenticated and slabbed by PSA/DNA in a jumbo holder.
