From its opening in 1934, New York’s Madison Square Garden has seen more of the greatest sporting events and athletes than any other sporting venue in the world. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this famed cathedral of sport, an All-Star team of the best college basketball athlete who played under its roof was selected. One of its choices was University of Cincinnati and Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson. To mark the occasion, Robertson was presented with this expressive trophy featuring an eye-catching bronzed sculpture of a basketball player on a wooden base with an engraved plaque reading “Presented to Oscar Robertson Member of Madison Square Garden’s All-Time College Basketball Team 1934-1984.” The award is 9.5 tall with a 7” by 9” base and weighs in at 8 lbs. The piece show light wear with some scuffs and abrasions from age. A commanding trophy that celebrates Robertson’s achievements in the greatest sporting venue in the world. Includes LOA from Oscar Robertson.

Oscar will donate a portion of his auction proceeds to the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center and LeBow Institute for Myeloma Therapeutics at Dana Farber. This renowned cancer treatment center “provides comprehensive care to patients with multiple myeloma, including promising new therapies through clinical trials rooted in an approach that brings laboratory discoveries quickly to the clinical setting (https://www.dana-farber.org/multiple-myeloma-program).
