This original ITECH custom-painted goalie mask was used during the filming of the Disney movie "D2: The Mighty Ducks". Emilio Estevez returns to his starring role as coach Gordon Bombay in the entertaining 1994 sequel to the original hockey classic. This time, the underdog youth hockey squad now represents the United States in international competition. In the beginning of the movie, Bombay (Estevez) plays goaltender for the Minnehaha Waves, a fictional minor league team, wearing this same mask. The fiberglass goalie mask with Hollywood pedigree features distinctive original artwork with a "Waves" team logo on the forehead and sky blue, yellow and maroon colors depicting crashing waves on each side. "ITECH" and its logo are painted in four spots. The beautiful mask is the work of renowned artist Frank Cipra and designer Marlene Brown, as indicated inside the chin in neat black penmanship "Graphics by: Frank Cipra, Marlene Brown". All elements including the cage, chinstrap, interior padding and rear plate protector are completely intact. It shows excellent "movie-take" game use with chip marks in the paint on the forehead and chin.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
