Amazing capture of Babe Ruth rolling a cigar in late October of 1919, just two months before he would be traded to the New York Yankees making this one of the last photographs of Ruth as a Boston Red Sox player. The 7" x 9 1⁄2" Underwood & Underwood photograph displays excellent clarity and bold tones. Some chipping is present as well as a small crease. The image of Ruth remains untouched and serves as an important memento of baseball history. The rear description of the photograph shows that Ruth was in the middle of a contract negotiation with the Red Sox which may have played a role in his trade two months later. Encapsulated in a jumbo holder and authenticated as Type I by PSA/DNA.
