On the night of March 23, 1996, 7,000 fans packed the Herseypark Arena to watch the PIAA Class 4A title game between Lower Merion Aces and Erie’s Cathedral Prep Ramblers. The star of the evening was Lower Marion senior Kobe Bryant who scored a game-high 17 points to power the Aces to the championship, 48-43. Kobe was already something of a prodigy, with newspaper stories before the game touting his status as “the real thing.” This would be Bryant’s final high school game and he would end his amateur career as Southeastern Pennsylvania's all-time leading scorer with 2,883 points. Kobe would go directly to the NBA following his graduation, something only five other players had done before him. This is the ticket stub to Kobe’s final high school game. The stub is faded and shows toning and some creasing from age – none of which diminishes the historical significance of the piece. The stub his been encapsulated and graded VG 3 by PSA.
