This is a compelling sculpture of "The Champ," an imposing 16-inch high depiction of Ali cast in bronze by noted sculptor Ralph Crawford. Limited edition (of 30) artist's proof notation appears on the back of the bronze, along with "Muhammad Ali, Three-Time World Heavyweight Champion," and a signature from the artist as well as copyright date 2006. The bronze is a marvelous likeness of the legendary Heavyweight Champion, an expertly rendered bust that finds The Champ in a pensive moment, eyes cast over his right shoulder. With the bronze sculpture resting on a granite base of roughly 11-by-9 inches, the piece is extraordinarily heavy, weighing in at approximately 40 lbs. A small section near the bottom back edge of the granite piece of roughly the size of a quarter has been expertly repaired and indeed is more easily discernible by touch rather that by the eye; otherwise, the piece is in largely as-issued and problem-free condition.
