Featured here is a pair of Paul Kariya Anaheim Mighty Ducks game-used items from the mid-1990's: his Bauer skates and Easton stick. Kariya won the Hobey Baker Award (top collegiate player in country) at the University of Maine and was selected 4th overall in the 1993 NHL entry draft by the Mighty Ducks. He spent his first nine seasons in Anaheim before playing for Colorado, Nashville and St. Louis. A highly-skillful finesse player known for his speed and puck-handling, Kariya finished with exactly 300 goals and averaged more than a point per game during his career. On the international stage, Kariya represented Team Canada’s National Team and won a Gold Medal in the 2002 Olympics.

The Bauer 'Supreme Composite' size 7 black leather skates have the brand's logo stamped on the outside of each ankle. The logo has faded on the back heel. The skates have Tuuk stainless steel blades and Tuuk Plus blade holders, with Kariya's no. '9' penned in black. They show solid wear on the exterior with with board burns and other contact marks. The interior has has held up well, as have the white laces. The skates come essentially as-issued and problem-free. In addition, we have Kariya's silver-coated Easton Synergy stick. "KARIYA" is stamped near the handle. It comes with black medical tape at the knob and also around the blade. The stick shows great game use, with many black stick marks in the curve of the shaft.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
