Mickey Mantle single signed baseballs are a dime a dozen in the hobby. The fan favorite in pinstripes signed his share of balls, bats and 8x10s at memorabilia shows during his later years. Inscribed singles from Mantle vary in scarcity and collectibility, the most common being his career home run total ("536"), Yankee/MLB tenure ("1951-1968"), Hall of Fame induction year ("1974"), his middle name ("Charles") included, or one of his popular nicknames such as "The Mick", "The Commerce Comet" or "The Kid." What really gets collectors' blood pumping is one showcasing Mickey's playful, unapologetic and profane sarcasm like this offered gem. On the sweet spot of this spot-toned OAL (MacPhail) ball is Mantle's strong 8/10 blue ballpoint autograph with "To Tom Best Wishes Asswhole [sic]" inscribed. While personalized, at least it's one of the most common first names out there. This bal makes the perfect display piece for that passionate Yankee fan that goes by Thomas, Tommy or Tom. Off-white ball is in EX overall condition. Never before have we come across this rare inscription from the beloved Oklahoman slugger. Comes with a full LOA from JSA.
