The late, great Mickey Mantle, the much celebrated Bronx Bomber who hit 536 home runs during his illustrious career in pinstripes, signed this 1952 Associated Press (AP) black-and-white wire photo and inscribed “Best Wishes” above his signature. Dated Feb. 22, 1952, it shows a limber Mantle shagging flies during spring training in St. Petersburg, Florida. He signed the print in black ink and note his autograph is a period signature as it reflects the scrawl he used early in his career. The print, which includes dateline copy at the bottom, measures 6.75” wide by 9.25” high.
