Offered in this lot is a legendary Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson dual-signed 1991 NBA Finals floor piece in an impressive shadow box displayed with a classic photo of Magic vs. Jordan from their epic '91 Finals matchup ultimately won by the latter MJ, his first of six championships. Each player's name is laid out vertically in their respective Bulls and Lakers team colors. The floor piece itself is from the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, CA. When the Lakers moved into the Staples Center in 1999, the Forum court was removed and many similar-sized wooden floor sections like this found their way into the hands of collectors or memorabilia distributors.
Upper Deck Authenticated, Jordan's exclusive autograph and memorabilia partner since 1992, took advantage of this opportunity and got Magic to agree to a non-bindng signature deal in order to produce a limited run of 23 of these impressive dual-signed Forum floor pieces measuring 7.5x10" and one inch thick. Magic has inscribed each Forum floor piece with “1991 NBA Finals” above both his and Jordan's large autographs in bold black marker for a striking contrast against the beige wooden background. Both autographs rate 10/10 in our opinion and it is hand-numbered #14/23 in the series. Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls press pins are included at the bottom of the display along with a plaque touting the historical significance of the matchup and the moment (“Lakers vs. Bulls, Magic vs. Michael, 1991 NBA Finals, The Beginning of One Era and The End of Another"). The shadow box frame measures approximately 43x35"and three inches deep. An absolute gem of NBA memorabilia featuring two of the most iconic roundballers to ever set foot on the hardwood. The display is accompanied by authentication from PSA/DNA (Cert. #: E12055) and UDA (Cert. #: SHO23977). Also, there are photos of Magic signing it.
