Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton--winner of the 2016 Home Run Derby--wore this jersey in official Marlins games played on May 6, 9, 10 and 11 of the 2016 season. In fact, during the first game on May 6, Stanton crushed a two-run, game-winning blast--his 10th of the year--in the bottom of the 8th inning against the Philadelphia Phillies to give Miami a 6-4 victory.
The mammoth shot traveled an estimated 475 feet, making i the longest in all of 2016. Offered here is Stanton’s 2016 Miami Marlins game-worn jersey from those very games. He followed up that injury-shortened campaign with an MLB-leading 59 dingers in 2017, the most since 2001 when his former hitting coach Barry Bonds broke the single-season record. The muscular Cuban-American is the leading candidate to win National League MVP honors.
The button-down, 100% polyester white jersey (size 46) reads “MIAMI” across the chest in embroidered black outlined in orange, silver and white. The first letter “M” has two additional colors (blue and yellow) added to the mix, as well as an adjoining embroidered Marlin symbol embroidered in orange, blue and silver outlined in white. The front left tail includes the proper Majestic Authentic Collection manufacturer’s tag with correct player size (46). Affixed to the jersey just above the manufacturer’s tag is the MLB tamper-proof hologram sticker. The left sleeve sports the official Miami Marlins embroidered stylized “M” logo patch. The rear jersey collar features a sewn-in, official MLB silhouetted logo patch in three colors: black, white and orange. Also on the back is an arched “STANTON” sewn directly across the upper back in black-on-silver tackle twill. His uniform number “27” appears in the center via eight-inch-tall black tackle twill numbers outlined in orange and silver. And lastly, a majestic tag with QR-barcode labeled "#27 2016 46+2 B 1738" can be found on the lower right placket. The inner left seam of the jersey contains a washing
instructions tag. The jersey can be matched to photos from each of the four games indicated, and exhibits obvious wear in the form of stretching, fraying and light soiling.
