Former first baseman Mark McGwire enjoyed a 16-year major league career playing for two different teams: the Oakland A’s (1985 to ’96) and the St. Louis cardinals (1997 to ’01). Known for booming bat, McGwire launched 586 home runs during his playing years including a then-record single-season 70 dingers during the 1998 campaign. In addition to his bashing prowess, McGwire was a very capable fielder with a career fielding percentage of .993 who and earned his only Gold Glove award in 1990 with the A’s. This lot includes one of McGwire’s game-worn first baseman’s glove during his tenure with the Cardinals. The Rawlings PRO-CMHCB Gold Glove model two-toned glove shows ample game use and includes “Mark McGwire” embroidered in gold on the back of the thumb area.
