Recently retired New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera set the MLB all-time saves mark with 652 saves during his prolific, 19-year career. This lot includes a signed and inscribed authentic blue seatback from the original Yankee Stadium, which was torn following the 2008 season. Sporting a No. 2 in metal to represent the seat’s position in the row, the seatback has been signed and inscribed by Mariano in black Sharpie and reads: “Mariano Rivera/ All-Time Saves Leader/ 652 Saves/ Last to Wear #42/ 96, 98, 99, 00, 09 WS Champs/ Enter Sandman.” The seatback measures 18.5" wide by 15" high. A very legible and memorable inscription from the all-time saves leader.
