Amazing Marcus Allen Los Angeles Raiders game worn helmet from the mid 1980's. Obtained by the family of the former owner of "Global Van Lines," who became a notable acquaintance with some of the Raiders players and front office personnel during and after the team's move from Oakland to Los Angeles, this Riddell helmet was worn by running back Marcus Allen during the early part of his career. Blessed with tackle marks and impressive gashes from rugged game play, this piece presents well-worn team logo decals on each side. In addition, "32" rear numerals in the proper font are properly positioned, while its facemask was added by the team after the shell was put to use by Allen. Also added after the fact are leather jaw pads, but the original chinstrap is still present, while the interior size "7 3/8" sticker is affixed. The proper "ACE 1" interior padding is still present. In addition, a scent of nicotine, which suggest the helmet was once displayed in a bar or smoker's home is noted, for the sake of full disclosure. Unquestionably, one of the nicest mid-1980's shells ever offered representing the Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Comes with a letters of authenticity from Heritage Auctions as well as a letter of provenance from the daughter of Global Van Lines' former owner.
