Historian John Holway always gave part of his publishing royalties to the subjects of each of the many books he wrote involving Negro Leaguers. The former ball players were always appreciative. Here we offer an ink signed Hall of Fame plaque given to Holway by his friend Satchel Paige. This lot also contains nine (9) separate checks from Holway to Negro Leaguers and endorsed on the back by each. Included is a very rare check endorsed on the back by Satchel Paige written as "Leroy S Paige" from 1972 Hall of Famer Leon Day three endorsed checks from Hall of Famer Buck Leonard (one with a small corner tear) two by Joe Canada and one each by Webster McDonald and Lenny Pearson.
