The 1927 World Series saw the New York Yankees sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates in four games. This was the first time ever a National League team had been swept by an American League team. The Yankees of 1927 were a fearsome group led by Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Earle Combs, Waite Hoyt and Herb Pennock. The Pirates had stars of their own in Pie Traynor and the Waner brothers.
The program is loaded with photos of all the players on both teams, owners, managers, coaches, plus countless period ads. It is in good condition, showing some natural wear, fading and aging. There is some minimal light writing in pencil on the cover, but it is barely noticeable. An outstanding piece of World Series history from an iconic season!
