A delightful autograph example of baseball legend and significant historical figure not just in sports, but in American history, Jackie Robinson. This PSA/DNA authenticated signature of Jackie is an excellent piece just as it is, or could be quite nicely matted and framed with a photo or baseball card of Robinson for display.

The signature is on the back page of our consignor's hotel reservation confirmation sheet, as he was in transit on the New York Thruway to Montreal for Expo '67 (1967) and had a random encounter with one of his baseball heroes.

Provenance from Consignor Laurel Mayer:

It was summer of 1967 and my wife and I, along with her then 10 year old brother, were driving up to Montreal, Canada on the New York Thruway to attend Expo '67. We stopped to eat at one of the restaurants on the NY Thruway. While eating, I saw Jackie Robinson a couple booths away. By then, Robinson was retired from baseball and a businessman. As a young boy I had written a book report on Jackie and in 1950 watched the "Jackie Robinson Story" in our local movie theater, so I was a very knowledgeable fan and could not pass up an opportunity to get his autograph. I grabbed the only piece of paper I had in my pocket (a reservation for the hotel we were going to be staying at in Montreal), went over and apologized for interrupting Mr. Robinson's conversation (what appeared to be a business talk with another man), and asked if he would be kind enough to give me an autograph. He graciously obliged, and I have kept this signed page all these years.
