The vast majority of Babe Ruth signed photos exist in dimensions of 8" by 10" or less. Occassionally, examples are seen in the range of 11" by 14" and are generally considered "oversized." However, this example is in an elite category of size. Measuring a whopping 17.5 x 21.5" (visible area), it is among the largest Babe Ruth Signed photographs known. Equally impressive is the quality of the image, showing Ruth in action at the plate c. 1930's. His inscription appears in the ideal area at the bottom center, where the light background enables optimum contrast for the extremely light inked note. There he penned, "To Fannie & Morrie, a lovely Couple, From Babe Ruth 2-26-48" (3-4/10 due to fading). Close inspection reveals several very light wrinkles on point, btu the image is not diminished. mated and framed (vintage). Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA and an auction LOA from JSA.
