The Western & Southern Open is a tennis tournament played annually in Cincinnati (Mason), Ohio, featuring the top touring pros and considered the final "tune-up" before the U.S. Open. Since the late 1980's our consignor Jerry Ankenbauer, a nearby resident, has been relentless in his pursuit of tennis autographs, primarily at the venue and nearby hotels where the top players stay during the event. Once they became old enough to be armed with a Sharpie markers, Jerry's two sons joined into the action and over many years have inked a "who's who" from the men's and women's tennis tours. Presented to the hobby for the first time are some of the fruits of their signature-hunting labor.
This lot features four multi-signed autographed 8" x 10" photos of tennis legends, each with Beckett COA's. It is difficult to get any one of these tennis icons on a signed item, so imagine the challenging task of successfully completing these multi-player masterpieces!
