Offered here is a Super Bowl I ticket stub from the very first Super Bowl featuring the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on January 15, 1967. In June of 1966, the NFL and AFL announced a merger resulting initially in the creation of a title game between the two league champions at the end of the '66 season. The Packers launched the Super Bowl series by whipping the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10, behind the passing of Bart Starr, the receiving of Max McGee, and a key interception by All-Pro safety Willie Wood. Vince Lombardi's repeating NFL champions broke open the game with three second-half touchdowns. Starr completed 16 of 23 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns and was chosen as the game's Most Valuable Player. The Packers collected $15,000 per player and the Chiefs $7,500 apiece--the largest single-game shares in the history of team sports at the time.

This stub is graded by PSA GOOD 2. A pretty banged up left corner and a somewhat off-center back are the main blemishes along with a crease across the lower third of the stub. Bold print, strong colors and even perforation on the bottom give it a very attractive appearance for the grade.
