Among the legends of the game, Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s name stands out as being one of the elite few who reinvented the game and made it the exhilarating, fast-paced sport it is today. Magic Johnson could claim a place on five NBA Championship teams and was the recipient of three MVP Awards for both the regular season and NBA Finals.

This jersey was donned by the Lakers great during 1990-91, Magic’s last full season in the NBA. Even at the “advanced” age of 31, Magic reinforced his status as one of the game’s premier players by averaging 19.4 points and 12.5 assists per game as he made his last Finals appearance. Johnson’s 1990-91 yellow mesh home jersey has “LAKERS” and Johnson’s number “32” on the front in purple and white tackle twill. The arm and neck openings are trimmed in white and purple ribbing and an NBA logo patch is sewn to the left shoulder. The left front tail has a Champion size 44 label upon which JSA has affixed authentication sticker “FF92296.” The back of the jersey has “JOHNSON” above his number “32,” both in Lakers purple and white tackle twill. The basketball legend has signed the back of the jersey, right below the “2” in bold black marker.

The jersey shows good game use with some snagging and light staining throughout, particularly on the bottom portion of the garment. There is a more prominent stain located on the white tackle twill of the Lakers logo on the front of the jersey. The tackle twill graphics show slight puckering from frequent laundering and there are some loose threads throughout the piece. A stunning gamer from Magic’s last full season on the hardwood.

Accompanied by a full LOA from MEARS. MEARS A10 and COA from JSA FF92296 for the autograph.
